Activities

AANT members have been very busy over the past few months. We are grateful that we have been able to make a difference in the lives of some very special animals and hope to be able to help many more in the year ahead. Here are just a few of the activities in which we have been involved.

Adoption Events
In an effort to assist rescue groups find homes for animals in their care, our group organized a booth at the Keller Farmer's Market every weekend in October. Rescue groups were invited to bring along their adoptable animals and provide them with some valuable exposure. These events were very successful and allowed us to expand our network of contacts. AANT members also collaborated with the Humane Society in an adoption event held at Sabre Holdings. 22 animals found their forever home as a result of this activity. AANT collaborated with the Humane Society in another adoption event at the Keller Fest which took place May 29-30.

Fostering
AANT members have fostered and found homes for several homeless animals and we are continuing to open our homes to animals in need.

Donating
Donations have been made to several organizations including the Humane Society, August Dogs, Halteman's Haven, Bassett Hound Rescue and Kool Kats.

City Council
The group made a presentation to Keller city council, proposing changes which should be implemented to benefit the animals at the shelter. At the council's January 19th meeting it was announced that several of these changes will in fact be introduced in the near future including the testing and vaccinating of incoming animals to prevent the spread of disease.
